Project Brief

Second-year university project to create cutting-edge, contemporary TV channel branding. DARE is a channel aimed at young creatives—a platform for self-expression, experimentation, and bold visual culture.

Creative Approach

The branding needed to stand out in a crowded media landscape while resonating with its target audience of young creatives and the communities they influence. I focused on creating an identity that felt simple yet instantly recognisable—edgy without being inaccessible.

The visual language clashes intentionally: neon colours against stark black and white backgrounds, bold typography paired with provocative imagery, smooth 3D rendered shapes alongside raw video textures. This tension reflects the creative energy of the target audience—rule-breakers who blend influences and challenge conventions.

Tools

Blender, After Effects

Visual Elements

  • Colour Palette – High-contrast neon accents against monochrome foundations
  • Typography – Bold, unapologetic letterforms commanding attention
  • Motion Language – Dynamic 3D shapes and energetic transitions
  • Imagery – Edgy, youth-focused visuals reflecting creative subcultures

Design Deliverables

  • Logo Design – 3D rendered logomark created in Blender
  • Ident Package – Three distinct channel idents with varied visual treatments
  • Motion Graphics – Animated assets and transitions
  • Brand System – Cohesive visual language across all touchpoints

Outcome

A bold, cohesive channel identity that speaks directly to young creatives—proving that TV branding can feel fresh, rebellious, and culturally relevant while maintaining the clarity and recognition essential for broadcast media.
